Schools are run by a governing body who work with the Headteacher and senior management team to ensure that pupils receive a good education. Governors hold an important public office, their role is to act as a “critical friend” to the school, and to use his or her knowledge and experience to constructively challenge any aspect of work in order to achieve this.
