My name is Mrs Hoare and I willl be the class teacher throughout the week apart from Monday afternoons when Mrs Quinn will teach Religious Education during my non-contact time. We are also very lucky to have a dedicated teaching assistant Mrs Hayton who supports the children on a Tuesday afternoon and all day Friday and Mrs Quinn will fill that position all day on a Monday aswell as a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning.
Please do not hesitate to come and see me or any other teaching staff regarding your child's development and wellbeing.
Your child has been given a book and a reading diary to take home and read with an adult. Whenever your child reads please ensure the diary is dated and signed with any relevant comments and inform us when your child is ready for a new book. They will need to keep their reading diary and book in their book bags to bring to school every day. The children will also have lots of opportunities to read and enjoy books throughout the week at school in class and in the library.
Each week one child will earn the award of ‘Star of the Week’ and two children will be invited to show 'Good Work' on a Friday at 2:30pm in the school hall. You will receive a text message from the school office if your child is chosen.
Homework is given out every Friday with a weekly overview and should be returned by the following Wednesday in the children's bookbags.
Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED)- Helping children to develop a positive sense of themselves and others in forming positive relationships and respect for others - To build on their social skills and manage their own feelings.
Communication and Language (CL)- giving children opportunities to experience a rich language environment through speaking and listening.
Physical Development (PD)- providing opportunities for children to be active and interactive and to develop their coordination, control and movement.
Literacy (L)-linking letters and sounds and developing reading and writing.
Mathematics (M)-giving children the opportunities to develop their skills in counting, understanding and using numbers, calculating, problem solving, shape and measure.
Understanding of the world (UTW)-guiding children to make sense of their world and community.
Expressive Arts and Design (EAD)- enabling children to explore and play with a wide range of media and materials through a variety of activities from dance and art to role play and technology.
