Farington Moss St. Paul's is an attractive Victorian school building which has undergone many changes to improve facilities both internally and externally in recent years.
The Key Stage 2 playground has had a full sized sports surface built extending from the existing yard, with new markings. In 2016 an Outdoor classroom and Trim trail was installed. Both playgrounds now have benches, planters and picnic benches for the children to enjoy. Between the years 2013-15 the school completed extensive renovation work and the EYFS department has new toilet and changing facilities which has enhanced the provision for our children. The most recent development included a classroom extension and bi-fold doors linking Y.1 to the EYFS outdoor area.
Work has also been ongoing at the front of the school to produce a garden area with pond, vegetable patches, willow dome and wildlife areas for the children to enjoy and to enhance lessons.
In November 2014 we achieved 'Outstanding' following the Schools Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools.
It was reported that ' Behaviour and relationships are exemplary. Children are proud of their school and feel valued.'
'The School, through its distinctive Christian character, is outstanding at meeting the needs of all learners.'
We are a happy and caring school, where children achieve well and make good progress. Comments from our OFSTED inspection (June 2017) confirm this:
"The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection.”
“The Head Teacher has ensured that teaching is consistently good and pupils’ progress is tracked carefully.”
“Pupils make good progress in reading, writing, mathematics and a range of subjects.”
“The work that teachers give pupils to do is interesting, engaging and exciting. It makes pupils think for themselves, reason things out and become good learners.”
“You take full account of the need to develop pupils as young people and help them take their place in the wider world as valuable members of society.”
“Behaviour is good. Pupils very much enjoy school and they are eager to learn.”
“You are vigilant in ensuring that pupils are safe and well cared for.”
“Governors have a good understanding of the school’s strengths and areas for improvement. They support you well in the drive to help pupils reach higher standards.”
We are very proud of our good progress and provision for all our children.
